Crimestoppers are today making an appeal to local people in Merseyside in an attempt to locate five wanted individuals linked to gun crime offences in the area.

Crimestoppers provide the 100% anonymous 0800 555 111 phone number and online form, enabling the public to give information without ever having to speak to the police or go to court.

Last year Crimestoppers received 5,300 pieces of information in Merseyside, a record, with over 300 pieces of information on weapons that saw over 30 guns seized. The community has played a huge part in ensuring weapons are not on the street, and this latest appeal is another opportunity to help.

The five individuals being sought include James Hogan, 33 who is originally from the Everton area. Police believe he could have information that could assist in relation to a firearms investigation in Anfield.

Vincent McNamee, 49, is originally from Anfield and is believed to have information which could assist in relation to a firearms investigation in north Liverpool.

Information is also being sought on the whereabouts of 25-year-old Daniel Gallagher. His last known address was in the Speke area and he is known to have links to Tuebrook and the Rocky Lane/West Derby Road area of Liverpool.

Twenty-one-year-old Daniel Lewis is originally from the Bootle area, and he is believed to have information on a gun discharge incident in the area.

Finally, Anthony Junior Rowson, 25, from Kirby, is also wanted for questioning in relation to a firearms offence.

Profiles of each individual can be found on our Most Wanted section. A digital advan broadcasting the faces of the wanted individuals will also tour some of the areas they are linked to on Friday.

Gary Murray, our Regional Manager for Merseyside, said: “We know that gun crime can be scary, but the purpose of this appeal is not to alarm – contacting Crimestoppers is a way of helping to keep your community safe.

“Our charity takes information anonymously, so you will never have to give any of your own details. We have fully trained staff ready to take your information and help remove the burden of what you know, without judgement.

“Please, help us to help you. Pick up the phone and dial 0800 555 111, provide your information online – again, completely anonymously.”

If you have any information on the whereabouts of the five wanted individuals, contact us safely and without fear of your identity being revealed. Once you’ve put the phone down or logged off our site, you are done.
