Three days of awe inspiring, jaw dropping aerial displays are set to make Southport skies thunder next month for the 2018 Air Show.
Starting with an exhilarating night line up of the Red Arrows, pyrotechnic laden aircraft and a thundering firework finale, the Southport Air Show promises none stop fun for all the family over three days (July 6-8).
On Friday the skies around Southport beach will be lit up with displays from The Red Arrows, The Blades, Fireflies Display Team, OTTO the Helicopter, the Tigers Free Fall Team and even the amazing Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
There will be pyros and LED lights on planes, as well as a firework finale on the beach to end the special evening, making way for two adrenaline-packed days of aviation action on Saturday and Sunday with a host of incredible displays all weekend.
To make this an incredible day out for the family there will be a host of fun filled activities taking place on the ground including military tanks, a diving tank, replica aircraft, flight simulators plus the return of the much loved beach explosions!
Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Labour Cabinet Member Regeneration and Skills, said: “The 27th Southport Air Show promises to be a fantastic three day event for all the family and I can’t wait to see the huge crowds across the weekend.
“Sefton Council continues to offer an incredible events programme throughout the year which caters for all the family.
“With the return of the marvellous Friday night flying displays, this promises to be an exciting weekend for the Southport Air Show and the whole of the borough.
“If you are planning to attend one of the three days, make sure to get there early and make the most of your visit to Southport and the beautiful Sefton coast.”
Discounted tickets for each day of the Air Show are available to buy in advance and start at just £6.50 (including all fees).

Either way, none are free. Free to watch maybe, but there is a cost to someone. It just happens that Southport charge those that want to watch it from inside the fencing. It is of course "free" to anyone on the other side of the fence.
