Southport Air Show has received a lot of criticism on Facebook. Most people were happy with the flying displays apart from the Red Arrows not being there.

The Air Show village has received a lot of flack along with the entrance fee.

Definitely needs a better air show village that was rubbish and some new planes or helicopters and beach explosions!! Ramp it up!! If you want people to pay especially us who live here then get the local businesses involved!! Blackpool do it for free!!

Need some better stalls quite disappointed first time I've been back since a child!🙈 but the displays were good shame the red arrows weren't there and a chinook display would be good!

I think the Southport air show wasn't as good this year. If it wasn't for the air displays there's not a great deal else to do.

Very disappointed! The stalls were cheap, overpriced tat, pointless buying a ticket because it wasn't checked and the airshow itself was not exciting like it used to be, with the exception of the typhoon. Bring back the days when you sat at the side of the runway.

No red arrows and you pay... why?
Blackpool and Rhyl air shows much better and free.

I must admit this year wasn't as good as year and everything seemed more expensive, not as many stalls and very quiet for an air show. I think this year was def over priced, last year and previous years was great- not so much this year!

Poorest flying display Southport have had in years

I think they should make it free and add £20 to everybody's council TAX to pay for it. (no not really)

As for the other points in the original article....

"over priced tat" wow that's a surprise.

"if it wasn't for the air display there was little else to do" WHAT?

"No red arrows" This was well known well before the event.

BTW did I go? No. Had other things to do. Guess how much it cost me as a local.... £0.00

Pity the Russians were not invited to take part - that would have been exciting!

Never understood why people pay. Sussed it out the 2nd year we lived here & have never paid.
