Merseyside’s Labour Police Commissioner Jane Kennedy has claimed that more than 5 out of 6 people who call the Police control room have a police officer attending within 4 hours. However this has provoked a Victor Meldrew-esque “I don’t believe it” from Birkdale Lib Dem councillor Simon Shaw.
Councillor Shaw is the longest serving member of the Merseyside Police and Crime Panel which was established in 2012 to hold the local Police Commissioner to account. Together with other members of the Panel he questioned Police Commissioner Kennedy last week on her draft Annual Report for 2017/18
On page 16 it states that “Merseyside Police control room receives more than 2,500 calls a day…Approximately 200 will be graded as emergency calls, these are the priority incidents which the police aim to respond to within 10 minutes … For those calls that do not require an emergency response, approximately half are responded to within an hour and more than 83% will result in the attendance of a police officer within four hours.”
However Cllr Shaw’s reaction to the claim that 83% (or 5 out of 6) non-emergency calls have a police officer attending with four hours was a simple: “I don’t believe it!” and other members of the Panel backed him up in his view. He called for Police Commissioner Kennedy to fully review the source of these statistics, and correct the statement as appropriate.
“It’s important that statistics in relation to policing and crime are absolutely clear and precise,” commented Cllr Shaw. “This claim just doesn’t tie in with people’s own experiences.”
Simple Simon keeps following the LibDem mantra which is to get your name in the media as often as possible, irrespective of whether it's good, bad or indifferent news, in order to brainwash the voting public into recognising your name on the ballot paper at the next election.

That claim tends to fly in the face of conflict of the Watchdog reports:
"Delays in responding to emergency calls is because in some forces there are so many calls that staff have not been able to allocate them quickly or there are not enough response officers to send to incidents."
Manchester has 7600 police Officers and Support Officers.
Calls per day 3,600
Merseyside has 7000 Police Officers and Support Officers
Calls per day 2,500
Give due credit though - the response times for real emergencies are very fast.

I don’t believe it
....said Southport residents when the libs claimed to have done something positive for the town.
You don’t have to think hard to see why no one wants to meet or work with them professionally if every meeting is spun and published to make them look like the least worst option. Seem to remember cllr shaw napping on the audit committee when it took him a few years to work out the Hay payscales had been used before he kicked off his press campaign to slam and blast.
Hopefully the opposition find a good candidate to stand in Birkdale in May as attitudes like his and Dawson’s are what holds the town back. At least the libs have reigned in “Prasnee”.

We got our house burgled on a Monday night, my partner opened porch door. The snip was on inside door. 6 pm. The burglars were still inside. The police did not attend till 10.30 next day. Then 6 hour later the forensic team arrived said no point taking prints DNA etc as it had rained. What’s all that about....🧒🏾👴🏿

Have just alluded to your comment re Prasnee on this thread, over on the main forum...
Yes, in my view it’s always been pretty simple as much as the libs love their naughty spin they wouldn’t want to outright lie so, prasnee will neither answer whether he is a Cllr or an accountant, similarly in one post he said “I never post under another name on this site” or words to that effect I believe him, so in that one thread where Cherue Brandie was strongly linked to being a different poster it would imply prasnee and Cherie Brandie and prasnee are different (as well as obvious style of post)
I am surprised that the Labour posters on the other site have never pushed this or Cllr Jones asked for an apology for that council meeting it was raised and brushed away by the libs but never actually answered to yes or no that Cherie Brandie and prasnee are Lib Dem cllrs....maybe it’s being saved for next local election as to me it feels murky that cllrs are posting on council matters under pseudonyms and also posting “news” without declaring its from a political rival.
