I have been into Victoria Park on at least a couple of occasions this summer.
I have been playing (and spectating) Crown Green Bowls. I have not had any problems accessing the park.
To be perfectly honest there is very little to entertain people actually in the Park except when there is an event on i.e. The Flower Show, when of course, there is a charge to enter the venue!

The park is used often - there are Personal Trainers who use it often, cyclists, kiddies playing ball, dog walkers, people having a picnic or just having a break during or after work. People do not need entertainment all the time - it is lovely just to enjoy the peace as nature provides.

The key word is: "removed" It hasn't been removed at Woodvale, nor will it be. Nothing to do with Sefton Council, it's the MOD.
Also during the last World War after many homes were bombed, new buildings were built with Asbestos material as brick and stone were scarce.
I know. My husband's family were rehoused in one after their house was bombed in the Bootle Blitz. He lived in it for about 10 years.
There are still some of these properties around now and people live in them. Many properties across the UK contain some form of Asbestos - it is quite safe unless disturbed and particles becomes air
born.
Key words here are: "unless disturbed" Better ask the moles in Woodvale to stop digging it up.
Southport Visitor: PART of Southport’s historic Victoria Park could be sold off by Sefton Council, as it battles to plug a £66m budget black hole.
8 year old article.
I do not seem to be able to find a timetable for the closures of the Park - as always not really made public.
I gave you a link to Victoria Park Events website/calendar. It's public, and crystal clear.
As for visiting various towns - I visit for somewhere different to go, not for any specific reason because almost all towns in the UK have similar retail units. If the town offers attractions I am more than likely to visit it.
You have time to leave the house? Surely you jest?

A relocation on the grounds of public health and safety...was an excuse?
What was the real reason for the mandatory move?

The fact is that the park is being closed off more and more often than previously - many people are complaining and it is also referred to on Trip Adviser. What is wrong with using other locations that are far more suitable? The money would still go to Sefton? Which in turn goes to the Liverpool Joint Council's purse, not for re-investment in the town.
I am late now - i should have gone to bed half an hour ago as I have to be up for four. I generally work from five until ten and in the afternoons I work another few hours. Sometimes at home but most often out!

The money would still go to Sefton? It was pointed out to you on the 1st page of this thread that Sefton Council leased Victoria Park to the Southport Flower Show Company back in the 80s. Space at the park is rented out by the Flower Show Company for all events, including caravan events (which are nothing to do with the Caravan Club Site) The funds are paid to the Flower Show Company, and are used to maintain and manage the park. Nothing goes to Sefton Council... apart from a bouquet of roses.

By now you must be in the arms of Morpheus. Sweet dreams, hope the round goes well tomorrow. Is your name Ernie?

Oh, Ha!Ha! No I just like getting finished early!
Another park, like many across the UK - is being sold off in Liverpool for development projects.

Well they are more likely to get sold off if they are not in use. So lets hope Victoria park keeps busy hey.
