What period of grace are you given

If you are sacked from a particular company for gross misconduct - how long is it before you can re-apply for a job with that company?

Any time you like but they're never going to offer you a job.

If your sacked for misconduct I would rate your chance of being re-employed by the same company as slim to zero at any time, you may also find difficulty getting a job anywhere else if a reference from your previous employer is required.

What a stupid question, forget the gross
misconduct .The fact you are the question
    shows lack of intelligence.

Depends on the individual company's policies. No one else will know. If it was gross misconduct rather than a minor issue the chances of re-employment in the same firm are practically nil.

Oh I don't know. Over the years there have been many instances of NHS managers being sacked for being utterly useless, corrupt and grossly negligent and they all seem to find employment with different NHS trusts before their huge payouts are all spent.
I'm only happy when it rains....

Agree but, has anyone considered that said has himself, recently been dismissed from his employment, for gross misconduct. This thread then being, the cries of a desperate man??

Well he's certainly bragged about the number of disciplinary hearings he's had so you're probably right.

But I bet none of them were sacked for gross misconduct. They would have left on compromise agreements. It is actually very difficult to make GM stick.

Although probably getting easier in the accuser-affirming climate of #MeToo

Perhaps one would consider the charge of fraud against an employee is gross misconduct, yes? Well the Labour party has on several occasions re-employed ex-employees who have committed this offence. Two to my knowledge in London after a mere few years after being sacked and one in Liverpool recently, after having been told that he would never be allowed into the Labour Party again??

Were/are they actually paid employees or party members?
If you're referring to Derek Hatton the fraud charges against him were dropped.

The council charges for fraud may have been dropped due to a supposed lack of evidence - but the fact is that he was the leader of a group that cost the council dearly, and the given reason why he lost his position there. In addition, and after being expelled from the council there was a matter of 37 Cyprus homes that Mr. Hatton was promising I believe on Time Share agreements:

Along with the fact that twice before, Mr. Hatton appealed to re-join the Council and was refused each time. He applied this year and was allowed to rejoin the party but not take any position of authority.
