What has happened at the Leicester Hotel?
About town today, lots of people talking about some kind of bother involving police and someone being drunk urinating in a taxi... surprised by this a it's such a lovely place. It was one of the best in town. Lots of choice for hotels in Southport these days

Yes, but it would be better if the Council could make compulsory purchase orders on the Brittania group of hotels in Southport. These comprise of some of the most iconic buildings in the town and they are being left to go to ruin.

What I can't understand is why the Health Inspectors & Trading Standards aren't all over these establishments.

They couldn't even get rid of the Amusement Arcade at the front of the Scarisbrick even when it was proved to be contravening planning and other regulations. Not sure why but as they say, money doesn't talk, it screams. Maybe the Council were paid off......

Update on O.P
It was the owner of hotel was drunk and urinated in the back of taxi, then refused to pay clean up charge and assaulted the taxi driver.... police even turned up. Disgusting behaviour. I wont be recommending that hotel to anybody from here on in!

The entry road to the Albert docks, following on round (Gower Street) and there is a proposed red tarmac road leading to the new Echo Arena Car park. They are the ones that I know of - there may be more. I am given to understand that Gower Street was being resurfaced at around the same time as Lord Street, in Southport.
