I wouldn't put a milk bottle out in this weather let alone a member of the family.

I do! Weather is not that cold! Horses, Cows, Sheep, Chickens, Birds, Rabbits, Hares and Badgers are all out - so why not working dogs? I ask you? How on earth did animals survive without humans?

I take your point but wild animals suffer too they have no choice! With respect, Why don't you spend a night in a kennel in these temperatures and see how you feel you might get an understanding!

Yes most of us get that we aren't all puddled like the Cyclist, but who said it is a working dog and if it is a pet that has become accustomed to being in the house why choose NOW to evict it.

I have spent several cold nights in a tent - if that works for you. My lack of fur as opposed to human skin was compensated for with a sleeping bag - it is quite cosy. I cannot stand hot rooms, I sleep with the windows open and I do not have any heating on at night - I would not be able to sleep if I did. Animals have a number of different mechanisms to stay warm, which humans do not have. Wild animals have existed for longer than humans - If history has that right.

If the animal has become accustomed to being inside - then there is not much you can do. Similarly, certain fashioned bred dogs, i.e. pug dogs, Chihuahuas etc. cannot be classed as outdoor dogs because some of the protection has been bred out of them and also most of the short haired breeds.
Labrador, Collies, German Shepherds, most terriers etc., (working dogs) - i.e the majority of dogs are suited to the cold weather.
In Northern Ireland, it is rare to find pet dogs in the home.

Hear hear very well said (no pun intended). Shame the dogs can't speak for themselves and be heard. Let the dogs choose I say and let them eat cake also. Whoerrrrrrr.

People are very quick to jump to negative assumptions.

    1. It is for a cat not a dog

    2. The cat is not mine and is left out in all weather

    3. I am buying the kennel to fill with blankets and give him somewhere to shelter

and you say I have no heart???

Not many people could cope with that arrangement during the current weather conditions and temperatures. How does your spouse / partner cope?

I suppose everyone gets used to doing things their own way - it is what we have always done, the whole family. None of us could sleep in a closed hot room. The wind is annoying, but I do not find it overly cold at present. There must be many people who feel the same way.

Though I did feel embarrassed one day last year when a woman in the local shop was talking to the shop assistant. I did not know either of them but as I got to the counter the woman was just finishing her conversation with ".............you can always tell where the illegal drug users live, they always have their windows open at night" So I guess I must be labelled now.

I cannot work in an enclosed environment with no window open or no access to the outdoors, either and any shopping I do is very brief for the same reason - but, I hate shopping anyway.

To keep Pedoja sweet, I have inserted paragraphs!
