Travellers on the Kew Park n Ride, written notices given, but thrown away.

I found this letter from the council this evening while walking my dog, found at the back of HomeBargains in the gutter. This will be about as much notice that these travellers will take from the notices issued to them..

Well that will put the fear of god in them.

They have absolutely no respect for the law, the environment or anything else.

They think that they are above the law, and judging by what happened at the brewery in Blackburn a few weeks ago, they are, the police are frightened of them, allowing them to cause criminal damage, commit theft, public order offences and then watch them drive away without a single caution or arrest.

I understood that these 'travellers' were given notice to move out straight away and have done so.

Yes, I read about that after it was brought up on this site. If it had been young local hooligans there would have been all hell to pay! It would seem that the local Police authorities published a letter requesting information from any witnesses?? Odd, since the Police were present at the time. Lancashire Council have asked for people's views on the incident, everyone should respond.

Come on kick the police again.
You haven't got a clue to what the police can an cannot do.
100 travellers in Blackburn , so you expect 6 policemen to turn up and move them on.
There hands are tied by do gooders and courts.

So your answer is to let them do whatever they want to do, what’s the point of having laws and police if it one group of people are exempt.

In Blackburn they were in in the brewery for some length of time, time enough to call up reinforcements or blockade the gate that the travelers had forced open to prevent them leaving.

There seems to be plenty of police available for other public order offences, demonstrations etc.

As for your comment “you haven’t got a clue to what the police can and can’t do” what I do know is that if you or I broke into a building, caused criminal damage, committed theft I wouldn’t expect to stick two fingers up to the police, laugh at them and walk away Scott free.

I’d be more than intrigued to hear just how you would deal with them.

As I said, they are above the law.

Question. If the site is secured, how did they gain access? It is my understanding that they don't break into secured sites or they send someone ahead to unsecure the site before they arrive so they can't be charged with breaking in?
Yes it will cost the Tax payers money but their vehicles & Caravans should be impounded & they should be placed in hostels {although they wont stay?}. To keep breaking the Law when they feel like it is not on. There should be some repercussions for breaking the Law, something that would make them reluctant to keep on flouting the Law?
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants, they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

If it was an eminent politicians property that had been occupied they would have been there immediately by the busload.

Plenty caravans and vehicles on there as of lunchtime today as I went past. Noticed the concrete blocks across the entrance were in place, so it looks as though they have blocked themselves in!

The Blackburn site was secured, the scum broke in, the only answer to these criminals is to fight force with force, I have no doubt the sight of a military vehicle blocking the entrance along with a number of armed troops would jolt their thought process'.

Well - they really are going to be hard pushed now - another lot has arrived on Crossens playing fields. Let's hope they are an opposition to the ones at Kew then they will be too involved with each other and perhaps leave us alone.

They were still there yesterday, and two young teenagers of school age zig zagging across the road on quad bikes , I stopped and had a word and was given a load of expletives.
