Tory priorities
I see the hunting set are getting involved in actively supporting the Tories, because they believe that given a big Tory majority, they can repeal the hunting with dogs act and get back to those healthy, wholesome activities like fox hunting, deer hunting, get back to chasing fear stricken animals to death, get back to showing the peasants what the "real" life is.
Just how far removed from reality are these moronic, ignorant, barbarians if they can even consider that their repulsive, blood lust deserves any priority at all.
Those of a more left wing disposition are often accused of waging a "class" war, I think it's self evident just who wishes to maintain the "class" distinction.
Before anyone dismisses this as speculation remember Cameron is a hunt supporter, but dare not try to put this through because his majority was too small, May the one who continually spouts of running the country for all, is also a hunt supporter.
Vote Tory and revive blood sports, I would dare them to put that in their manifesto.

This is a non-story whipped up by The Independent (a Labour supporting former newspaper, downgraded to a blog, these days). There has been no change in Tory policy on this and May has always said there'd simply be a free vote if it ever came back to the commons.
The new government isn't going to have time to waste on peripheral issues like this, no matter how much the toff-hunting class warriors would like, as there's rather a full agenda in sorting the bloody country out and getting us out of the EUssr.

Non story?? Of course there are far more urgent and important issues to deal with, but this is already being promoted by (mainly ) Tory peers, plus of course with a good majority what do you think would be the outcome?
This issue shouldn't even be under discussion let alone promise of a free vote, why should any time be spent on this at all?

I wouldn't call it a non-story. May has stated on video that she's in favour of fox hunting. I think that speaks volumes about her character.
It appeals to those small business owning, middle class and middle class-aspiring types who dream of being accepted into the upper echelons, but never will be. It seems that most of Southport's small business is populated by them. It isn't, just seems that way.
There is something fundamentally missing from this type. A lack of empathy for the most vulnerable in our society that borders on the psychopath, but always flamboyantly announcing how much the club / hall / chapter has done for charity. You can usually throw in a good pinch of good natured racism ("I don't care, I'll say it" while beaming at similarly minded white middle aged buddies).
If you don't recognise the type, you're either lucky, or it's probably you.

Can anyone find confirmation the Labour socialist party will continue to give 0.7% of our GDP to Foreign Aid pledge?
I can confirm The Capitalist Tory Party will and have budgeted it into
their manifesto.

I wouldn't shout that one too loudly, there are a lot of people who would dearly love to see foreign aid reduced, or at least much more tightly controlled and these are usually Tory voters.

The majority object to the way Foreign Aid is misused once transferred to the recipient country not the actual concept.
Of course Labour and the Lib Dems are going to support the Tory's on this one.
I just need to see it in writing.

Why???? I believe Cameron holds the UK record for U turns and manifesto promises not carried forward, it being in writing doesn't mean sod all where politicians are involved, from all sides.

Found it thank you.
Quote
"We will shift aid resources towards programmes that help the poorest people in the poorest countries. We reaffirm the UK's commitment to the 0.7 per cent UN aid target and in government Labour will start to reverse the decline in UK aid spending."
So no increase of that percentage by socialists proving The Capitalist Party is equally generous and not discriminatory to colour race or gender in that department.
The only downer to these poor countries would be 0.7% of "Labour" GDP would be considerably less than the Tory's donation!
I hope sf is not eating out to lunch yet?

I agree with Dav. The National media has now earned itself the title of Mind Management Media by the fact that it can print anything at will and that people will believe it. I believe that a Labour Party newspaper printed this article, that May would hold a VOTE on the issue. Since 84% of the electorate are against fox hunting - there is no need for anyone to worry about it.
I am sure that May will be far more occupied in dealing with election issues and how to put right Labour's historic damage to the UK when it accommodated an illegal entry into the EEC/EU - than to bother with a controversial minority group of hunting people.
