Tortoise care during holidays

We would like to link up with a tortoise owner in Southport with a view to sharing care during holidays. We have two healthy males who are used to living outdoors and have access to a greenhouse. Would like to be able to send them to a suitable home when we go away and could reciprocate.

If you are stuck - we could help you out. We do have an enclosed garden but the fencing does not go deep in the ground - so we may have to organise an enclosure in case they burrow out of the garden.

We send our tortoise to Sue Baxter in Gravel Lane when we go away. She has several rescued tortoises as well as boarders and the facilities are top notch. I swear our little one doesn't seem to want to come home when we go and collect him. If you need a contact number, I will gladly supply one. She charges £5 per day but she is a fully qualified veterinary nurse and very capable.

Seriously, I feel mean taking him away from company but I'm told that they don't socialise at all except for mating purposes obviously.

hi we live in churchtown and i have 8 tortoises all live in a heated shed with access to the secured garden and had them for over 15 years
we also look after a friends torts when she goes on holiday so we sometimes have a total of 10 i am happy to help
