Thinking of Joining the Armed Services?
Has anyone watched the £1.6 million Army recruitment video?
Imagine you are around the age of twenty. You have tried working in one or two bit jobs and found them boring and uninspiring. Then you hear that the army are recruiting and you are interested in changing your life, doing something more exciting, becoming someone in society, etc.,
Now watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1vCe3BAnws - it is only short.
Compare that to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTdOnDSPZ_Q
and also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrxgAwuKxec
or for that matter any other country's recruitment promotion. What do you think?
Keep in mind, that it is not only the British people who will view the video - the rest of the world will also be watching since such promotions are also indicative of a Country's security standing in the World.

"becoming someone in society, etc.,"
Interesting section from 40s to 1m20s

I wonder which 'shadow people' 'corrupted' this young man on his career as an army medic?

Shadow people, just for your information - was a term coined in the last century when homosexuality was frowned upon. Homosexuals would move around in their own circles that everyone knew about - hidden in full view - hence the term, which was far more acceptable than other terms used at that time. If you viewed the videos, you would clearly see the point that I am making.

It does seem a bit nonsensical trying to portray the Army as suitable employment for sensitive souls when the main requirement of the job is a willingness to kill people.
It's a bit like the shock and outrage displayed when some recruits are exposed as racists. Who'd have thought an organisation that can legitimately allow you to kill foreigners would attract that sort of person!

One should not consider themselves in isolation, one should be considering what benefit they could be as a whole! What did you make of the video comparisons?

You chose only to show a UK recruitment video for the army, the other two show all aspects of their armed forces.
How about comparing these

"Shadow people" was a term you heard used in the last century, then...but in which country did you hear it?

Can't see a problem with the video. Nothing there that say's you can't defend your County or fellow solider.
Maybe you have just been watching to many American Jarhead movies.

And the worldviews of some of those responsible for those kind of movies are becoming more apparent.

If the video creates a vision to the world that you are proud of your country, that you are strong and willing to fight for your country and happy to do so - it sends a message to all that your country is worth fighting for. That video does not convey that.

I find the video very informative, it shows that the British Army is open and diverse in it's recruitment accepting people of all sexes, faiths, sexual orientation, physical capabilities (these can be improved) and won't judge.
As I posted earlier there and many videos around showing the armed services in its active roles, this one shows a different view to dispel peoples stereotypical thoughts.
I really dont't think our 'enemies' will be queuing up to invade anytime soon based on watching it.

Well one thing is sure! Anyone contemplating taking over the UK after having watched that video will believe that they can just walk into the country and take over, because everyone will just submit to them. Whereas, it looks like one would have a real battle on their hands if they tried the same with China or Russia.
