I am not surprised - I hate to think how those in Rotten Row are managing with their higher council taxes etc., I live more than a mile away and the noise is way above that of my music player, while I am in a closed room with the windows shut.

Still - I should not be so upset about it, the profits made will help the Liverpool Joint Council considerably, and they may just spend the loose change on Southport.

The people in Rotten Row were mostly on their balconies or at their windows watching the fireworks. Not sure if council tax was on their mind.
Liverpool City Region is funded by central government not by Sefton or revenue from Sefton events. I point this out every time you repeat this lie.

You are wrong - perhaps not directly, but indirectly it is. The money that is raised from the various events in Southport is used as levies paid to the Combined Authority. The Regional Mayor, in his statement about the International Golf Event, quoted that the money raised will benefit Merseyside. There is indeed a central fund from the Government, as you state which is to aid transport, business start ups, etc.,

There doesn't appear to be any trace on the internet of any such statement substantiating your claim.
