Well, there appear to be fewer homeless beggars on the streets of Liverpool and an increase in the number of beggars in Southport. There is no reason why anyone should be homeless at this time of the year as provision is made for food and shelter for all of them all across the Merseyside region.

Very true! Nor are all beggars homeless.

I think the aims of the shelter are more geared to saving life and
helping those whose homelessness is helpable long term with support and professional input.

I am not saying that people choose to be homeless.
Many cannot comply with the rules in place to protect them and others
or attend and follow through with 'recovery' programmes to manage
their addiction.
