Swinton are an insurance broker, you pay the insurance premium plus their commission. You'll save £££ by going one on the many comparison sites.

I usually end up with Liverpool Victoria, but always go through gocompare as it always beats my renewal price.
Think I'm paying around £400 for a 66 plate focus ST

Most insurance companies operate a 'bait and switch' tactic. They lure you in with a cheap price, knowing that a lot of people simply pay up when the hiked-up renewal comes around.
I change my insurance company every year, getting a 'bait' price from a comparison website and then changing to another one the following year.
You need to check, though, that you're getting 'like for like' cover, e.g. excess amount and 'extras' like legal cover.

Swinton unlike the majority give you two or three years of cheap insurance to hook you before the big hit. I have found Liverpool Vic to be very reasonable but I look for the cheapest and then contact my current Insurer and invite them to lower their sights if they can't then I go. House and Contents is exactly the same.

As others have said shopping around is the key. I usually try Go-compare/Meerkat and confused plus a few insurers direct.
This years was an absolute bargain for me, went through QUIDCO website to Aviva which has £50 cash back. I was expecting to get a really high quote from Aviva but it actually came out the cheapest by some margin and then I got 50 quid back on the quote (paid 3 months later). So my 66 reg saloon cost me £160.00 for the year fully comp.
(Try Quidco as Aviva are still do the £50 cash back you never know)

Have a look at the comparison web sites. However the cheapest, of the companies I'd heard of, I found were Direct Line and Aviva. These two are not found on comparison sites.
I suggest you try their web sites too.

WOW! I’m only paying that for a Merc E class AND A class. IAM Surety.
Only available to Institute of Advanced Motorists members, but it’s well worth considering taking the Advanced Course at only £149.
