We were there yesterday. Dry day with plenty sun, if a little breezy....Bought tickets in advance £20 from Atkinson boxoffice (saved £6 per person).

Among the larger 'exhibits' was Merseysides Joe Anderson. Stood around with a small group of dignitaries, replete with chain of office draped over shoulders.

Went up to Morrisons today, it seemed pretty quiet around there and didn't appear to be be many inside.
Sunday will be even quieter as Northernrailway are not running any trains beyond Wigan so anybody from further afield will be stuffed as very few Blackpool - Manchester Airport no Blackpoo to Liverpoo, no Liverpool to Manchester Airport and Blackpool - Colne will be a 2 hourly service.

Don't be silly - the public have to pay for his expenses! Why was he present at Southport Flower Show, he is not a pretty sight! What was he up to? Is he awarding a contract to redevelop the site? He never usually shows his face in this town.

I was there yesterday doing some voluntary work .I met the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Sefton , nice couple . The show ground was busy . But some
Of the food outlets weren't that busy little wonder as they were charging £3.40 for a coffee.

It was heaving on Thursday, busier than last year.

I saw Fat Joe schmoozing with the pretentious, overdressed crowd. I'm sure he got his photo taken with Monty Don etc. Nice work if you can get it.

Oh, and if anyone fancies making a killing over the Flower Show weekend set up a Cake Stall. Not a slice of Victoria Sponge or Lemon Drizzle to be had anywhere, even in the main catering tent under the sign saying, misleadingly, 'Coffee and Cake'. Very poor.
I'm only happy when it rains....

Chorley comes under Lancashire council not Sefton!

Looking back at photographs taken of earlier Southport Flower Shows it is obvious that the show has been shrinking over the years - it no longer offers such a variety of attractions that it once did. Southport Flower Show is at risk of losing its national status if there is not more effort and imagination applied to it.
I go to the Southport Flower every year as said it is the biggest outside the RAS . I can't see how you can say it's shrinking .

RHS - RAS is the Royal Agricultural Society. It is not the largest any longer. Nor even the most popular outside the RHS.
