I did not read the news until after I arrived home soaking wet from the heavy rain and then I heard the wind while I was indoors - so I think I got the message anyway.

Look on the Brightside the tide will come in.
Bit windy here in the hills.
It rained a lake on our forecourt.

Thankfully my outside aviaries managed to hang on to their roofs! Lots and lots of extra zip ties did the trick. However, once I was satisfied that the roofs were unlikely to find themselves relocated to a different postcode, I spent the night worrying that the entire aviaries might relocate Was very rough here, but I'm only one road back from the Marine Lake so really do get the force of these gales.
All ended well though, so happy days

Cable ties are a wonderful invention.

They absolutely are Hamble, and an absolute boon to me now! There have been countless DIY tasks that I would have struggled so much with and despaired over, but those marvellous things have helped me hang on to my independence and complete tasks by myself. They are so cheap too!
