    Stolen Purse

    Hello,

My mum's handbag was stolen in Sainsbury's on Saturday. The staff were fantastic and even found her handbag later dumped but her purse was gone. The police know and are investigating however she would like to try get the word out per say if anyone has seen her purse. She has photo's in there of her deceased mother and would like them back if possible.

The purse is a black/dark grey colour, fairly worn with John Rocha or something similar in gold in letters on the side and rectangle in shape.

This type of crime is particularly sick. It is very sad that this has happened to yet another person. Elderly people are targeted and watched while shopping then the thief takes advantage while the person's attention is elsewhere. The thieves are unable to make an honest living because they are educationally challenged and have cowardly attitudes - I would like to see such people locked away for a minimum of eight years for this type of crime. It is now the time of the year when there is an increase in the numbers of low life appearing in Southport where people have to be particularly careful. Carry no more money than you will actually need with you and leave all valuables locked away at home. Be aware of everyone around you when out shopping and keep an eye on anyone elderly should anyone be taking more interest than normal.

My mum isn't quite elderly yet lol! But as you said she had her back turned for a second and it was gone, she's very upset about it understandably. Staff said it happens rather a lot at the store so really got to watch yourself everywhere you go! The staff were very good though and helped her, got a phone for her to use to call my Dad and recovered her bag but the purse was gone, we're very grateful to the staff at Sainsbury's for helping her out and getting CCTV to the police very quickly

I should like to see a sentence of 'Hard Labour' reinstated.
A sentence that compels these loathsome creatures to work their nuts off in the most unpalatable tasks imaginable.
This would tick both the deterrent and rehabilitation boxes without having to incarcerate and provide free bed, breakfast, lunch and evening meal.
The problem with this is that legions of hand wringers will pipe up spouting some mealy mouthed rubbish on 'Yooman Rites'.
