Stolen Bike from Costa on Liverpool Road
My teenage sons bike was stolen from Costa on Liverpool Road this afternoon, the incident has been reported to the police.
Its a very expensive Grey and Orange "Trek" bike the model of the bike is called "Marin"
Please could anyone who has information to come forward...
He’s desperate to get it back as he uses his bike to travel to and from gym where he helps local children learn gymnastics.

Just came down Scarisbrick New Road (8.30pm) and there was a lad riding one bike while wheeling another. One of the bikes was red with a pannier, but i couldn't tell the colour of the other as it was raining heavy.
It looked like he was coming from town and was heading up to Kew.
I couldn't say what he looked like though as i was in a car and he had his hood up.
Actus non facit reum nisi mens est rea.

A very desirable object and attractive to thieves like a magnet. Whoever took it will have no trouble at all turning it into instant cash.
Maybe consider running two bikes in future - one for show and one for go. A cheap 2nd hand bike for leaving in vulnerable places, e.g. outside shops. Keep the top-notch bike for days out of town/trips to locations with secure parking.

Thieving scum, bike theft is quite high from outside shops and from people's sheds, it's just a shame when they are caught they are not given a severe custodial sentence.
It will probably be another baghead on the rob to pay for his habit.
I hope you get it back.

SOME people buy an everyday bike of modest cost for everyday use. Others buy high-value specialist machines costing $1,000's. E.g. lightweight carbon roadbikes for sport cycling, or high spec mountain bikes for use on MTB trails.......

Don't think many teenage boys do that though do they.

What, go mountain biking? Difficult at that age, unless you have (or can obtain) transport to Wales, the Lakes, etc.
Best MTB centre I have used would be the Forestry Commisson's site; Coed y Brenin, located near Dolgellau. Frustratingly too far from here, to make a one-day visit a practical proposition imo. Great destination for a long weekend though, enabling the Mawddach (rail)Trail to also be ridden from Dolgellau to Barmouth and back....can highly recommend.

Perhaps they should consider doing so, as it would spoil things for the thieves.

As usual you don't read what people have said. READ THE POST BY HIS MOTHER half wit. The teenager (not an old overcharging chimney sweep *** odd job man who has more than one bike to try and keep his balance, at slow speed, on) needs his ONE Bike for going to help train youngsters at a gym. So why should he go to the expense of buying two bikes because an idiot like you suggests it. READ POSTS BEFORE ANSWERING IN YOUR USUAL IDIOTIC WAY.

Imo you're the one who should re-read the original post......because it states bike was stolen from Costa on Liverpool Rd - and not from a gym. Therefore, a spare low-cost expendable bike for visiting places like Costa makes perfect sense. Many people run a second (or even a third) bike, myself included.

Let's be realistic, he's a young lad, He's hardly going to want to be with his mates on a £20 bike now is he.
None of this is really helping, Can people just keep their eyes and ears open looking for this bike.
