Just got back from Victoria Park, sun shining, thousands of people there along with hundreds of cars, it should have been a great event.
However, I think the turnout caught the organisers by surprise, it was utter chaos, there was little evidence of any traffic control to ease the congestion, people where parking anywhere (on the grass verges on Rotton Row, on double yellows)
Once in the show ground it was even worse, there were thousands of people walking around looking at the cars on display while other cars were allowed to drive through the crowds to park in the park, Health and Safety would have had a field day. Pity because it could have been a really great event.
On their Facebook page it said that they were expecting upto 50,000 people at the event, the marshalls didn’t have a clue what to do with the volume, drivers were were getting impatient and driving across the grass through the crowds.
There are a few reports (on their Facebook page) of some people being “nudged” and “bumped” by cars.

Must be the weather.
It is the first warmish sunny spring like day this year.
Ramsbottom has a Chocolate Festival on this weekend.
There have been thousands of people enjoying the outing and yes the roads are jammed.

It was a great event and great to see Southport full of people enjoying themselves.
Bring on the summer!

There is another one being held on the 10th June. Same place, so expect traffic jams etc.
