Sky
Hi,
I'm thinking of cancelling my Sky subscription. I know if I do that I'll still be able to get the freeview channels but I've read somewhere that, if you cancel your subscription, you can't record anything.
Does anyone know if that's correct?
Thanks,

Thanks,
That is correct, you also can't watch anything you have already recorded to the box.

As above replies, I’ve got a VU+ Solo 2 twin tuner satellite receiver with a 1TB hard drive you can receive and record all FTA channels.
The VU+ is a bit overkill really it’s more of a hobbyist machine (I also view other satellites)
Humax do a nice freesat HD recorder at a reasonable price available at Currys, Tesco etc
You just plug your sky dish leads into the box, tune in and away you go.

Humax
I have a Humax PVR and it is a great piece of kit, I can record 2 channels and watch a 3rd, pause and rewind live TV with all the Freeview channels, mine is through my aerial.

My Friend in Crosby phoned Sky to cancel, been with them for year's, the guy at Sky informed him he was still in contract.
This was a blatant lie, all you need to give them is a months notice, instead he was persuaded to sign up for a Q box, and a 12 month contract, watch those slimy bas_tards at Sky!

Hi,
Thanks to all for your replies. I have some recordings I don't want to lose so I'll have to have a rethink....
