Shell garage Roe lane.
How long before some one get hurt here?
Nearly everyday now I see drivers use it as a short cut to miss out the light. BMW X5 today, must have been doing a good 20mph around the back of the petrol pumps. Only a matter of time before someone hits a person/car/or god forbid a pump. Are these people completely stupid?

Could do with a couple of 'sleeping policemen' at each entrance, and/or a one-way system introducing.

That was just the one today, Had a Citroen Picasso a couple of days ago, A fiesta on Monday, Last night another BMW, this time an X3 overtook me and several other cars, shot into the garage and onto Roe lane. It won't be long before some one is seriously hurt.
I'm far from the perfect driver, but the driving standards have dropped to an all time low IMHO. Had some guy cut across where the lighting emporium used to be up onto the pavement, not a little, completely on the pavement and off down Kensington road. Probably saved himself 20 seconds at most.

it is a bit silly having a cut through, they should close the roe lane one for safety, but what a waste of money all the alterations of the pavements etc down roe ln/manchester rd, seems the council have money to burn, we have managed to survive for 100years without these pathetic changes...again money for the boys!, and backhanders for council officials

They would be better off installing one way flow ramps and exit only signs on the Roe Lane side, that way traffic can only exit onto Roe Lane.

They would still cut through from Hartwood road.

They should install hinged plates,as mentioned above, across BOTH Entrance and Exit, those that you can only drive over one way,or they will flip up and stop the vehicles from driving over them, they used to have them to the entrance/exit of the Southport Theatre Conference centre, and seem to do the job.Or have ANY drivers prosecuted for using the garage as a cut through, without using any of the services at the garage, using the CCTV already installed,as evidence.

It will get worse now that the roads at the junction are being narrowed by extending the width of the footpaths

you can't put them at a garage, It would be carnage. I think CCTV and reports for drive without due care and attention should do it. Preferably before someone is knocked over.

How will it get worse? I think it's a good idea now that area has a lot higher foot fall. Even more so if something does eventually happen where the barking frog used to be.
