Serious incident in Churchtown last night.
Do NOT know or have not heard what has happened, but there was a Police patrol car parked up,and Police "Do not cross" tape surrounding the bench by the entrance to Meols Hall at 01.20am Sunday Morning, with what looked like a Forensic officer examining the area, and also at Roe Ln roundabout, there was a dark unmarked Police vehicle, parked in Moss Lane,by the corner cottage, again with more "Do not cross" surrounding a small area around Mill/Moss ln corner. Both vehicles still there at 04.30am,so something serious looks to have occured. Both incidents possibly could be related in some way ? Sure somebody will have a report on here later in the day possibly, when the reporters find out what may have happened in these areas of Churchtown.

I don't know if it's just an age thing but reading posts like this makes my blood run cold and you can't help but think, please God it isn't one of mine. Southport, like everywhere else now, seems to be a dangerous place to be out and about at night.

Photos and reports are on both news pages of this, and the other local site, and both reporters are waiting for Police updates to follow.

Serious assault is the only vague explanation given.

The victim and alledged assailant are both in their 40s. A domestic incident supposedly

When the police use the term 'domestic incident', I get the impression that it's not regarded as seriously as other incidents.

That was true in the past but it's changing.
The reason they say this, assuming that's what it is, is to prevent people worrying that there is a violent person around who could assault them

There are far more violent people around today due to 'illegal substance abuse' or drug taking. You have to be on your guard most of the time.
