    Schools getting stricter

Only a month into the new term, my daughter's had a couple of detentions already for not doing her homework, and today had to do PE in her pants for not having her PE kit

    What are things coming to?

    Your problem is??????

It would appear that your daughter has the problem, not the school.

My sister had navy knickers for the girl's hockey uniform at school, even had a little pocket on them for a tissue - the sports area was the playground that overlooked a very busy main road. Even at ten years old my sister said it was sooooooooooo embarrassing.

Schools prepare the young people for their future career - what would happen if your child decided not to hand in some reports for her employment in the future? What if your child decided not to carry necessary equipment with her for work? What if your child decided not to abide by the rules of her workplace? It is in your best interests and your daughters to tactfully explain that it is to her own benefit to follow the school rules now rather than to face the undesirable consequences later.

"I'm a **** parent and I'm going to blame the school."

My Son has just started at Birkdale high, He has the most merits of his year so far, and zero negatives.

I'm guessing your just not strict enough.

Couldn't agree more. Being humiliated in front of your entire peer group is a wonderful aide-memoire.

She's lucky they don't beat children in school for minor misdemeanours anymore.

If the Parents can't be ar5ed making them do their homework and have the correct equipment for P.E. then the kid is already on a downward slope. Breeding should be subject to an intelligence and social skills test too many half wits breeding too many dole fodder kids.

    Schools are not getting stricter.

Some parents are too lax about checking that their kids do their homework and take in correct kit in.

Research shows that pupils who do homework regularly while at school make, on average, much more progress than those that don't or do it consistently.

In my day we were caned.
I had a geography teacher who would sling the wooden backed blackboard rubber at your head if you didn't listen to her lesson..

She was a bloody good shot too.. Many a bump I had on my
    head from her perfect aim.

Kids today definitely need more discipline and I am all
for making the ground rules stricter.

I got caned once for smoking in the school toilets...never smoked
after that. . It was peer pressure .. I was 12 years old.

Parents should give backing to the teachers, even if they feel
that the punishment was not appropriate.
A quiet word in the teachers ear is the best thing for the child..

Btw how old is your daughter ?

Pants? Do you mean school pants or underwear ?
