I agree-non academic children still need a choice between clerical and manual careers in either state or fee paying schools.

I wish I could change people's perception that fee paying schools are only populated by the wealthy.

I have met children with a wide variety of needs met by private school.
Physical deformity long term medical conditions.Bereavement of a parent(s)victims of bullying.
Children from ethnic and mixed ethnic backgrounds.
Parents who work long unsocial hours rely on grandparents to do the school run.

Fee paying schools provide a welfare service and support system which includes homework supervision pre and after school care and most importantly smaller pupil /teacher ratio.

What some children need to thrive and build confidence can make a difference educationally.

The new entrance would be better situated HALFWAY between Gorsuch lane, and the farm entrance on the right going towards the Marina. In my opinion anyway.

Very surprised the speed of the road was'nt reduced to 20mph when they redesigned the layout,a couple of extra signs, and a bit more paint on the road.

My (relatively) academic kids both went to state schools. If you have a state school with a reasonably middle class catchment area you don't need to pay fees. However my partners kids go to a more mixed kind of school, where there is little achievement ethos. At my (private) school, generally the kids were very competitive around academic performance, and this ethos is lacking in a least one school in Colchester.
