Russia 24 hours are up
What now ?
Mrs May, is she bringing a potential threat of war to the U.K..?
Putin is a huge egomaniac, and to be threatened by a woman
is not acceptable in his countries culture. Losing face is as bad
as losing a war.
Reminds me, in similarity to JFK ultimatum after Russia placed missiles
in Cuba, facing the USA.
Lucky for the Brits, the US are taking her side in this very dangerous
game of espionage...
Let's hope it will blow over..

What will happen, is exactly nothing. We have little to no power in the modern world. As we are about to find out.

Too true, the days are long gone when we would send out the navy to teach any "upstart" nation, that hurting Britain was not wise, now who cares?

Storm in a teacup. There will be sabre rattling, but nothing more.
The world is (justifiably) frightened of Putin. I doubt even China would cross him. Plus we are on our own with this. The US is in Putin's pocket, if reports are to be believed. I can't see the EU rushing to our aid, we've shot ourselves in the foot on that one.
It will pass. Until next time.

Everyone is concerned about ISIS sleepers in this Country but no one seems interested in the number of Russian immigrants, why even the Conservative Party accept donations off them and certain Labour Party members seem to admire the Russian system. Dictators of whatever nationality are always a danger.
All you anti frackers want to give your head a wobble and come up with a plan for gas when Putin shuts off the supply pipes.

Who is bothered about Russia bumping off a couple of traitors on our patch, they are doing us a favour as we no longer need to provide for an asset that is no longer of any value.
Anyway who is to say it was the Russians, it could just as easily be USA, France, Germany or China stirring the murky waters trying to destabilise British / European relations with Russia.

So many things wrong with what you've put.
1. if you don't look after your spies, you don't have any spies.
2. If only it was only them that got affected, What about the 20 or so other people that have been affected.
3. What about the massive cost of cleaning up after what is rather a small incident.
4. Are you of enough value not to be popped off?
5. It's a Russian nerve agent. It can only have come from Russia.
6. Where do you think it's going to lead if nothing is done to prevent this from happening.
Other than that I agree with everything you posted.*for the love of god spot the sarcasm*

And are the policeman and the other 20 ppeople hurt in this attack just collaborative damage? If this was a van driving at one person and injured 20 others would your opinion still be the same?

The claimed 'victim' was an ex-spy, of very little use now since he has been in the country for a number of years - a lot happens in politics in those years. What benefit would this guy's death provide to Putin?
What evidence is there that others have been affected - apart from hearsay.
The so called Russian nerve agent was developed in Russia, but every western laboratory now has supplies of this gas, including Portland Down located just down the road from the incident.
This is just another charade to hide something else that we will find out about later.

The benefit to Putin I guess would be as a warning to potential spies, that you are never going to be safe if you betray Russia (especially in the current climate where Russia seems to be drifting more and more away from the West). It could also be seen as a show of strength- We can use a chemical attack on UK soil where and when we please what are you going to do about it?
I agree that of course it could have nothing to do with Russia and could be counter espionage by some opponent of Putin. I do think however that the way Putin and his spokesmen reacted is not the way an innocent party would react.

What evidence?
A police officer who fell ill after attending the incident - Det Sgt Nick Bailey - was also taken to hospital and remains in a serious condition.
Of the 38 people who have been seen in hospital in relation to the incident, 34 have been discharged.
Up to 500 Salisbury pub-goers and diners have been told to wash possessions as a precaution after nerve agent traces were found.
- Clothes should be washed, ideally in a washing machine
- Clothes which cannot be washed, for example if they need dry cleaning, should be double bagged in plastic until further notice
- Mobile phones, handbags and other electronic items should be wiped with baby wipes, which should be bagged in plastic and put in the bin
- Other items such as jewellery and glasses should be washed with warm water and detergent
- Hands should be washed after the handling of any items suspected of being contaminated.

Apparently she is going to expel 23 Russians and freeze the assets of others who aim.to cause harm to this country. Slightly more than what was done when similar fate happened to Litvinienko. The future will no doubt be interesting.

I suppose you would turn a blind eye at the Russians bumping off a few more Royals too!
