Gee! It's nice to have company! As I have said to Sievad - I have always referred to the establishment as Portland, just seems more natural to me. But it is of no great consequence. Even Einstein made mistakes!

These websites get you into trouble as the wrong locations or misspelt names are a red rag to the more conventional.

On this thread alone you have been wrong at least 4 times. I couldn't even estimate how many other incorrect facts you've posted since you joined.

I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall of Portland stone!

If I am right, I am right! If I am wrong, then people must be prepared to prove that I am wrong - and I will hold my hand up!

People refer to conspiracies based on the CIA's coinage of the term 'Conspiracy Theory' - and although there are a number of whacko people who talk about blue spacemen etc, the majority of those described by the term 'Conspiracy Theorists' are people who 'think' about what they are being asked to believe. It is when certain reports are taken to pieces they just do not add up. Social media is used a lot by such people because it is only others like them worldwide, who can discuss and argue the points raised objectively. Only when the points raised prove to be a complete fabrication by the author - the event to which they relate is termed a 'False Flag'. There have been many of these over the years - and it has turned out that the greatest percentage of such reports are indeed false.

The source that you provided, I had not come across before. I need to establish where such reports come from, and what possible interest it would be to them to publish, before I accept it as accurate.

You're good though. You do take time to make a great argument, and that is what counts.

I don't want you to spend another minute on the conspiracy site link content as I posted the link title as an example of an error.

"And therein lies the problem with US media: The news is so filtered and in some cases propagandized that it bears little resemblance to the day-to-day intellectual needs of the average US citizen. It fails to provide solutions, let alone information that allows US citizens to cast informed votes. Either by omission or by commission, the US media actively under-, ill-, or misinforms the public on crucial issues that matter! The reason they do this is because they legally can. Media in the US has at least one court ruling that allows them to knowingly lie to the public." Cynthia McKinney

"Some warn that “fake news” threatens the democratic process itself. “On page one of any political science textbook it will say that democracy relies on people being informed about the issues so they can have a debate and make a decision,” says Stephan Lewandowsky, a cognitive scientist at the University of Bristol in the UK, who studies the persistence and spread of misinformation. “Having a large number of people in a society who are misinformed and have their own set of facts is absolutely devastating and extremely difficult to cope with.” BBC News

There is not one report that has described exactly what 'Novichok' actually is, nor whether it really exists.
"In recent years, there has been much speculation that a fourth generation of nerve agents, ‘Novichoks’ (newcomer), was developed in Russia, beginning in the 1970s as part of the ‘Foliant’ programme, with the aim of finding agents that would compromise defensive countermeasures. Information on these compounds has been sparse in the public domain, mostly originating from a dissident Russian military chemist, Vil Mirzayanov. No independent confirmation of the structures or the properties of such compounds has been published." (Black, 2016)

We are told that twenty police, sent to search the area, were contaminated with this so called nerve agent. Oddly, neither the Doctor nor the attending paramedics were affected.

We are informed that the victims have survived the attack. Assuming then that they would still be in danger of a further attack - they should have been taken to a secure unit. No - they were taken to the local district hospital which has no such secure unit.

The stories have been hugely conflicting - the poison was found on the daughter's car door - they did not travel by car that day. Evidence of this nerve gas was found in the daughter's suitcase - she had no need to go near her suitcase as she had arrived some weeks ago. We are told that the new gas is so potent - it would only take a few grains to be effective - yet the authorities found it almost immediately to be able to name it.

Where is this leading? To the fact that no-one can trust what one is told in the media, and one would be foolish in doing so.

Yes, I was in error of mis-naming an establishment - no big deal! I have always referred to the place as Portland, the establishment itself has given rise to many queries in the UK. But it appears that everyone recognises the name however it is spelt.

The public are given to consider:
Is it likely that a strong and successful leader for many years - is likely to create an international incident that directly links to his own country?

If so - why? Is it that Putin is convinced that the UK is weak and cannot fight back? For what reason? What benefit would such an event have for him? Considering that Russia has £billions invested in the UK?

Was it necessary to make an attempt on the life of a spy, who serves no use after all these years? If it was - why not use a more tactful method- one that would not point directly to Russia?

There is a repeated statement throughout the Social media - that if you are a Russian spy and you are about to turn - do not go to the UK!

Where am I wrong on anything else? I am seldom wrong - my facts are drawn from many reports, figures and factual statements from across the world. In fact, I can introduce you to one of your neighbours - a renowned professor whom I am sure would support that fact.
Still as resolute that Putin and Russia weren't behind it?

Anyway who is to say it was the Russians, it could just as easily be USA, France, Germany or China stirring the murky waters trying to destabilise British / European relations with Russia.
The spy thing was a complete tissue of lies unless you really want to believe that two guys from Russia, highly trained by ex-KGB agents, came over to the UK, hanging around long enough to be recognised, stared into every CCTV camera that they could find, carrying a poison that was claimed to be manufactured in their home country, that proved to be very specific as to who it affected. When it is common to knife or shoot people in this country now. That the Russian target in the UK had been jailed in his own country when nothing happened to him. These 'spies' did a worse job than any of the brainless teenage hooligans we have running riot now.

Possibly nearer the truth is the fact that Porton Down are fully aware of the 'new' poison, and many establishments in the UK actually manufacture this poison, that by establishing a Russian connection would give the excuse to deport many very wealthy Russians who own substantial properties in the UK, but then again, it depends what you want to believe.

Absolutely! It was sheer genius how Putin put one over on the Bundesbank, when sanctions were placed on Russia. For Putin to have such totally incompetent spies on such a hair brained attack beggars belief.
