    Royal Wedding best bit?

The Gospel Choir singing 'Stand By Me'.

Wow so emotional I loved it.

No - not exactly a suitable Wedding Song, since the film it was written for was about four boys wanting to see the body of a dead man? and that also the Choir screwed the song up completely, it is not choir music - the original version Ben E King) was far better.

Gospel Choirs have produced some very moving pieces, this was not the best by far!

The song was written years before the book and the film.

I agree too intense!!! Thought Meghan’s mother should have had somebody with her for support instead of being all alone. Thought Meghan looked stunning and so happy, a lovely day for all.

He went on far, far, too long,

I was pottering in and out - watching a bit of the wedding then doing a bit of gardening. I heard the American preacher starting to shout from the garden and wondered what was going on, had Meghan made a run for it? Had Harry legged it??? Ran in and he was just ranting like the nutters on Chapel Street on a Saturday afternoon.

Went back to my gardening, the Petunias were making more sense.
I'm only happy when it rains....

The whole thing was a bit political to say the least. One could have been forgiven for not believing this was a Royal Wedding, apart from the Royals actually being present.

Not what we are used to in mainstream UK Christian churches but quite normal in the US.
Would have loved to hear him recite St Paul's famous 1 Corinthians 13 instead. Would have been a lot shorter too.

    Unhappy

Since the Diana saga, Charles always came over as a man without feelings.

I think we saw another side to him yesterday, and it was very warming indeed.
Charles coming down those steps after the ceremony, with Adoria on one arm and Carmela on the other, said it all for me.

I hope we will be celebrating a birth this time next year.

Have you read the lyrics? A song about the ability of love to carry one through the trials and tribulations life can throw at us.

The song was based on a popular gospel hymn written in 1905. This beautiful version was recorded by The Staple Singers in 1955... a gospel classic.
