Red sparrow
This is the gist of the film...it gives an incite as to how the Russians train their people to become spies and assassins...quite a violent film, but has many similarities as to what is happening this week in the UK...
Newly released film...RED SPARROW
Russian Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service that trains exceptional young people to use their minds and bodies as weapons. Egorova emerges as the most dangerous female Sparrow after completing the sadistic training process..

When certain politicians started spouting about 'Acts of War', I thought it was a bit of an over reaction. After all, when you sign up to be a spy, you have to know the dangers. And if you upset Putin, you know there will be dire consequences. Not the most forgiving dictator going.
But if this nerve agent has been administered without regard for innocent civilians, maybe it IS an act of war. It appears (according to the usual news sources) that traces of this stuff have been found in several locations, not simply targeting one man who has upset the Russians. There are literally hundreds of personnel deployed in the area. Any random person could have fallen victim. Not that we'll do anything. Everyone is terrified of Putin, including it seems our American cousins. He's flexed his muscles and shown us and the rest of the world that he can attack at any time, and not just with conventional weapons. I think it is a demonstration of power as much as an attempted assassination. The Russian media seems to be having a ball with it.
Having said that, when there is blanket coverage of a single event such as this, I always remember the 'push this through while the public is distracted' email.
