    Yes, I've noticed .

"The Hay Group job evaluation methodology is probably the largest in the world and certainly is hugely widespread in the public sector. Getting a Hay evaluation of some jobs is probably the least controversial thing an employer could do."

Yes and even prasnee, who I feel it is safe to say is guaranteed to have read through that thread, will have recognised that and been unable to muster a counter-reply.

A sensible decision, to be sure.

I don’t believe prasnee is cllr Dawson, believe he’s a different cllr.

However interestingly on the other site does seem like cllr Dawson has admitted to “once upon a time using nicknames on another site...”

Wonder if it’s why he never responded to:

    https://www.southportvisiter.co.uk/n...-troll-6599215

Maybe Cllr Jones should ask him again and for an apology if the two are linked...

In post #28 on this thread, jarvissimo seems to indicate that Tony Dawson and prasnee are interchangeable names, but I agree with you that prasnee is not Tony Dawson and instead is another councillor.

I’ve encountered Tony Dawson on numerous occasions and am used to his attitudes, views and phrasing. I’m familiar with how he speaks to people in a variety of formal and informal situations, how he speaks to residents, to members of the press, to friends, to his wife et cetera, so I’m confident in asserting that prasnee is voiced by someone other than Tony Dawson.

Add to this that in my view Tony is also not to be mistaken for the poster named as Garageman (in your provided link). Although, Garageman could be read as a “nickname” I believe that poster was the long since abandoned work of another councillor.

Of more interest is have you given us your opinion? Facts are incontrovertible. Opinions tell us so much more.

An opinion with facts made this thread an interesting read.

The object is not to let the Lib Dems win local elections again.

    Two choices?
Vote Labour pay the councillor for doing nothing.

Vote Tory bring investment back to Southport.

How do you envisage the Tories bringing investment back to Southport?

My opinion is that Hay evaluation is good, as long as it is actioned for downwards revisions of job points as well as upward ones.

    Southport, North West Employment Information

    "Southport Overview

Southport is a popular seaside town in the borough of Sefton. Due to its location, jobs in Southport rely largely on the tourism industry with special events such as air shows, flower shows and coastal golfing events attracting millions of visitors every year. Job seekers should take note of this when searching for job opportunities. The town is situated in the North West where cost of living is generally lower than the rest of the UK. With strong links to Liverpool, important areas such as Liverpool City Centre are easy to reach by car or train.

    Southport Job Opportunities

Southport job opportunities can mainly be found in the following sectors, according to business resource Manta:
    •Travel and leisure
    •Retail
    •Health and social care
    •Customer services
    •Finance

Due to the prevalence of travel, leisure and retail in Southport, customer service jobs and jobs within hospitality are often available. While tourism is a big part of Southport's economy, many other businesses in the public and private sectors operate in the town including well-known companies such as Lloyds, Ernst & Young and Deloitte, providing finance jobs. Public employers in sectors such as health and social care remain particularly strong in Southport also, according to a Sefton Unitary Development Plan report.

    Southport Employment Trends

Investment in Southport's economy has been seen in a number of areas in recent years. Tourism investment came to just under £10 million for the past decade, according to Southport visiter. At the same time, manufacturing in the town has diminished in the last 20 years, so jobseekers in this area will want to ensure their CVs set them apart from the competition.

According to national statistics, towards the end of 2014 unemployment was down for young people by 47% with projects such as the Merseyside Gateway taking on skilled workers. A job centre representative for Southport indicated at the time that job opportunities in retail and hospitality were particularly strong."

1.Capitalise and invest on the above.

Build attractions to encourage new company investment jobs and make Southport a place worth considering moving to other than to retire.

    Open a Grammar School.

    Liberate and erase Pontins.

    Inaugurate open air rock concerts.

Put a statue on the end of the pier instead of that awful shed.

where he does not deny it.
I've not noticed prasnee posting on this forum, of late.

Has this absence coincided with the forum's growing awareness that it was actually not Tony Dawson who was the Liberal Democrat councillor posting under the prasnee username?

If so, it's cheering to know that Dave is no longer suffering from a bum rap.

If not, then the motive for prasnee's absence is, I guess, simply unaccounted for.

As I've had the displeasure of having to join argument against a certain councillor on a couple of occasions over the years, for what it's worth I'd say that said certain councillor will not turn out to be the same.

From what I've read here, I'd say the character failings are not evident.
I have heard SS cited as Prasnee. From what I saw of him & BB at the Area Committee meetings maybe 10 years ago, they came across as a pair of bully boys targeting the likes of Cllrs Glover and Pearson. That, of course, is simply the impression I got from SS’s hectoring stance. If he turned out to be the deeply unpleasant Prasnee, it would not surprise me in the least.

It now seems to be an open secret who prasnee is.

It was clear to me from prasnee's replies to me from a couple of years ago that it couldn't be Dawson replying to me. It was not a credible possibility for Dawson to be challenging my comments at that time, daring to ask me to elucidate.

I'm amused that all the while the perception held that it was Dave Dawson posting as prasnee, the actual Lib Dem councillor behind the prasnee username posted with impunity.

Now that Dave Dawson is no longer receiving that bum rap, it's a rarity to see a prasnee post on this forum.

A conclusion to reach is that the councillor behind prasnee has nursed a long-standing grudge against his Lib Dem colleague, Dawson.

There's no accounting for good taste, I suppose .

I remember meeting SS - or rather he met me. I noticed that one of his peripheral character traits was that he seems to struggle with directly requesting assistance. He needs to present a request in terms of his doing you a favour, despite there being nothing on the table of any interest to you. This speaks to his need to couch everything in terms of "doing a deal"; or to humility not being his strong suit. I'm familiar with SS's speaking patterns.

Further back, I recall being in a local village with a friend of the family. SS - who I hadn't heard of at that time and wouldn't have had any interest in as he was just another crusty, minor politician - sailed serenely past said friend of the family and myself, with his chin high in the air, and ahead by about 10 metres of his wife and an extensive pack of children.

SS's wife stopped to talk to said family friend - they both knew each other, so it transpired. As I recall, she was particularly well spoken. She also had a somewhat harassed appearance. As though she had a lot on her plate. I remember liking her but feeling vaguely sorry for her, without at that time understanding why.

Have been looking over this site's news forum, and in addition to noticing that the poster called "said" posts contradictory messages there, and in addition to noticing that the poster called "local" has arguments there with a specific poster that mirror arguments she / he used to have on this general forum with a poster who was subsequently banned for vile accusations and comments, I also notice that prasnee does actually still lurk and skulk about on that news forum, though not on this general chat forum.

But I notice if the news forum story features a picture of SS or includes a quote from SS, prasnee never comments on those stories...
