It is not normal or natural civilised human behaviour, whatever head in the sand academics or students may think.
That same argument was employed when the other legal issue was going on.

I'm not justifying behaviour, but you have to be careful about definitions. Attraction to sexually mature humans of the opposite sex is generally regarded as within the bounds of normal sexual desire. As a society we recognise the need to protect children who may be sexually mature, but emotionally immature and therefore have, what is to a certain extent, an arbitrary age of consent. Even in civilised countries, the age of consent varies from 14-18. There are grey areas, a 17 year old sleeping with a 15 year old is technically illegal, but a very different matter to a 50 year old doing the same.

Paedophilia is an abnormal psychology and involves attraction towards pre-pubescent children. There are no grey areas here or room for debate. I do not think that this is being alleged in the case of Oxfam.

I would not dispute any part of your post, I was responding to a post claiming there is a growing desire to have paedophile activity legalised, rather than the Oxfam connection.

Ah! Going back to just after homosexuality was legalised - if you recall the motion was started by a group of MP's in Westminster, who put pressure on the Government - once the motion was passed, these same MP's demanded that the age of consent should also be lowered - this was thrown out. The age of consent is at present 16. Could it have been considered that the MP's who had obtained a legal status for homosexuality, also favoured paedophilia?
On even more dangerous ground - the age of criminal behaviour has been set at ten years of age. If a child of ten can enjoy the sexual abuse and wanton killing of another child - does that mean that the age of consent could also be lowered to ten years of age?
Senior officials of Oxfam took part in sexual acts with young women and girls in Haiti, Chad, India and the Philippines, for which they may yet face charges of sex crimes.
