    Ormskirk Walk In Centre

The crazy system that is now in force at our g.p's works like this. I made an appointment for a telephone call (in ten days hence). After I've had this conversation, I would then have been told I need to see a doctor. That appointment would also have taken about ten days, i.e. nearly three weeks to actually make progress.
Today I went to the Ormskirk Walk In Centre. Arrived 1.30, was called in 1.35 and came out at 1.45 with a diagnosis and recommendation that my own doctor refer me to the specific department.
Absolutely brilliant service and the NHS at its very best. Sadly though, I foresee my doctor will suggest I need to see him in person before he makes the referral so we'll be back to another long wait to duplicate what's already been done.

Had to use it a few weeks ago, can’t speak highly enough about the service, brilliant.
If I’d have gone to Southport A & E I’d probably still be there now.

I thought Southport had a walk in centre at the hospital, a building in the rear carpark?

Not according to the NHS site, I think it’s a “Doctor on Call Unit”

Not too good GR, this getting old is no good (although it beats the alternative)

Back in Broadgreen next week, had to give up work, so overall not the best of years so far.

Thanks Nick and GR’s, I’ll more than likely be out of action for a few weeks. Look forward to continuing the banter then.
