Only to be Expected
This is a copy of the earlier post where I put in an exclamation mark in the heading which stops it from being opened.
If you are thinking of illegally defrauding someone - never do it in a small way

These people certainly didn't

That is more than just fraud! Conned insurance companies out of £6m, and claimed that there were fifteen of them living in one flat in Grenfell?? It was absolutely obvious that such claims would be made once the fire broke out - anyone who did not see that coming, would be a fool.

It is a common phenomenon after many human disasters sadly.
Unfortunately the actions cause harm in many ways.
Delaying payments to victims and family's.
Fooling supporters and pressure groups.
It was such a terrible disaster not many people would be brave enough
to challenge a victim without proof.
The only answer is public humiliation and a heavy sentence.
You have to remember the people who do this kind of scam are
often than not poorly educated and unable to carry out a watertight lie.

I spent a number of years dealing with this sort of thing, dealing with the victims of armed robberies. Terrible for the many genuine victims, but there were a lot of things you could do to check the background. We reckoned as many as a 1/3 included collusion.

I do not agree totally with that. Some people have never known any other of kind of upbringing. I have come across many UK people who while lacking in education - have been able to obtain great wealth. There appears to be a different kind of level where money is concerned. It comes down to just how persuasive a person can be - take Camila Batmanghelidjh for instance.
