Charles Aznavour will always be my no 1 absolute favourite singer, songwriter, musician. Went to several of his concerts and he once kissed me on the cheek. I did wash my face eventually but the memory lingers on. Wonderful, very special voice that can still give me magical shivers!

He has sold over 100 million albums. His parents introduced him to the world of theatre at an early age. He dropped out of school at the age of nine, already aspiring to the life of an artist. He began to perform at this time, and soon took the stage name "Aznavour".

His big break came when the singer Edith Piaf heard him sing and arranged to take him with her on tour in France and to the USA.

Charles Aznavour was a born showman, brilliant song writer and singer. No one can replace his style.
