No more Town Hall Gardens Cafe
I was very surprised to see my favourite summertime café transformed into Remedy when I visited Southport yesterday. If the plan was announced, it passed me by .... I shall miss the former cheery staff and the laidback atmosphere. It's a great site for expanding the Remedy business, but I feel a twinge of sadness to have lost a well established and in my opinion unique and welcoming café. Hope the former owner(s) has gone on to something even better!

The cafe at the end of the pier - I'll leave you to decide if it's 'even better'.

Do you deliberately visit there at times you know it will be closed just so you can be disappointed?

No it's just when I get the time, pardon me for believing we lived in a tourism resort where things are open for the tourists to visit, seems that Southport closes at 6pm apart from Funland.

I'm sure if the people who run the café as a business thought it would be profitable to open in the evenings then they would do so.

I've seen the queues outside Betty's in York and Harrogate - I don't get it - what's so special?

It is a traditional nostalgia café service rather like the choice available once in Southport.
Tea and coffee is served is from silver service with cup and saucer tiered cake stands.
White tablecloths.
Yorkshire is famous for the cream tea.
Scones are delicious served with jam and clotted cream.
The menu includes lunch type food afternoon tea with sandwiches and a selection of cream cakes is popular and can be gifted in a voucher.
I would say the popularity of all the franchise is the quality of the ingredients served in traditional style by waiters and waitresses in
the formal outfit and setting and tableware.
