These awards have been distributed in such a haphazard way they are not worth the paper they are written on anymore. Any Tom, Dick or Harry is awarded these on a whim. The knighthoods are now laughable - a knight traditionally was awarded the title providing that the person displayed all the necessary characteristics of the Knights Charter - none of those granted this title can lay claim to having even one of the necessary requisites. Several people living overseas have been awarded the title of a British Knight. It is similar to those granted an academic status that they have not earned - it is like living in a virtual society like in a computer game.

Just heard my friend from Aberystwyth got one.
    For his wheelchair basketball team.

Far more deserving than a pop star or a yes man from the Tory party. Considering a lot of them live abroad so as not to pay their dues it is a disgrace.

Got to agree with others. When the likes of No Mark Clegg are given Knighthoods, it shows just how worthless these so called Honours have become.

I was never offered because a refusal often offends.

There is a fair amount of natural wastage.

Ah! Unfortunately I am not eligible for a second honours. I received my knighthood along with Sir Lancealot, before His Majesty realised it would be better to use the flat side of the sword. However, I do have the consolation that a slot machine was named after me.
