Not helped by remarks from EU officials like: "Losing Northern Ireland will be the price that the UK pays for Brexit". And they said they didn't want to punish us

It may well be. There are those on here that agree with that statement.

Impossible job, when she took there was never ever going to be a solution to suit a majority, 48% would always be remainers and the other 52% would always be split between deal or no deal. The deal was never ever going to be as good as what we already have - it couldn't be. The whole mess comes down to dishonest politicians throwing out soundbites that they couldn't back up or they knew to be totally untrue and the equally incompetent and dishonest ones who never challenged them.

It wouldn't be a punishment it would be self inflicted, there has to be a border somewhere - Fact. The options are through the Irish Sea or through Ireland, the only other alternative is for Eire to leave the EU as well but I doubt if we could afford that.

Yep. The rest of the world must be shaking their heads wondering what we are doing to ourselves. Self destruction on a massive scale.

There's another option, not yet aired.....Since Scotland voted to remain, have free trade between NI and Scotland, with a customs check between Scotland and England?

Still puts NI on the outside, But I'm sure Scotland would love to do that TBH.
