Didn't know they still existed to be honest. Along with Spot The Ball seems such a throwback to the 70s.

Pools
I remember in the 90's doing it for about 3 years, one week I got 10 draws, I phoned up and they said I hadn't won because the ones I had didn't match up with their tables. I eventually did some homework and found that it was a massive fix.

The pools were decimated by the lottery and that building was already out of use by the Pools when i worked for littlewoods 20 years ago. Should keep the insurance investigators busy....

When I was a student I had to work to make ends meet. I worked in a petrol station that gave Green Shield Stamps, and lots of customers gave me their stamps as a tip. I got quite a few useful household items that way!
I may be wrong, but I think Green Shield Stamps morphed into Argos.

The ones available at Mobil Stations and Argos were Premier Points, they had little silver cards with a magnetic strip, a bit like a Nectar Card or a Morrison's More Card.

And you think the lottery isn't a fix?

I think I'm going back a bit further.
I worked at an independent petrol station, not part of a chain, and we used to give paper Green Shield stamps - you had to lick the back and paste them into a book.
About Argos - it was the Green Shield Stamps owner who changed the outlets into Argos stores: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argos_(retailer)
