I agree, it was a weekly ritual, It was a wonder the lad,s could sit down after he had wield his size 11 gym shoe.

Glad you replied USH I was beginning to think it was just me that this reptile used to assault every week. Wonder if he likes a good spanking himself ????

I remember Laurie Parr battering me with some stange objects like a padder tennis bat or the end of one of the ropes in gym. Sometimes I might have deserved it but I still think he was a sadistic sod.
He also seemed to like joining the boys in the showers.

He lived on Cedar Street close to the Southbank Road end as I recall with his mother. Drove a Volvo when nobody knew what a volvo was. I always found him firm but fair. He did not take any messing though and that was when the pumps came out!

to put things straight,this man was hanging about the showers,watching and learing, he was without question very odd,it is stated he would join the boys and shower with them scum like this should be investigated,where is this parr man now??

We had him as Deputy Head of Farnborough Rd Juniors in the late 70's.
He was a bit odd but didn't take any prisoners if any wrong was going on.
We also used to have outdoor games like footy and cricket on Carr Lane Rec and he used to tag along....God only knows why, he wasn't exactly Steve Cram or Seb Coe on the athletic front (in other words, he was a bit of a slow runner)

Ah yes, dear Mr. Parr, or " Laurie " to his acolytes. Most unpleasant person I encountered during my school life.

Well remember him from those Golden Halcyon Days of the SBL; a fine specimen of the Body Unbeautiful.

I was at Farnborough Rd when he was there and the boys would tell us he watched them get dry after swimming lessons and sometimes shower with them and change after games, so I believe this is true. He gave everyone the creeps. I don't know if he's still alive tho?
