I will always smile and pass the time of day at a checkout. Costs nothing to treat the person serving you like a human being. I tend to find that if you're pleasant to them, most of the time they'll reciprocate.

as with whippey mine too! but the message to all is todays life is a frought one ,online utilities banal frustration,banks too ,then parking the list goes on,but its how we interact an treat our humble fellows day to day grind,of days must do lists ,that can with just a lightened helpful response that cn make a dent on that load,or a diference to anothers day.behind that impatient scowl ,or frustrated faffing there may lie a burden borne.so being nice costs nowt buta smile.

Can I apologise ot the poor folk in Tesco earlier today behind me in the queue


I forgot my wallet but had my phone so could use Tesco Pay+, opened up the app for it to tell me to sign in which I tried to do! Phone crashed so had to reboot then open app again, again had to sign in.


I could hear tutting and to be fair I don't' blame them, I would have probably been doing the same, I was apologising and saying to the cashier if she could in some way serve the people behind me, but she kept smiling saying it's OK sir (probably thinking FFS get a move on )
