Cover for personal possessions on car insurance is usually quite low as stanrdard. If people haven't taken out cover outside the home on their home contents insurance they may find themselves out of pocket.

surely the smell of burning or smoke when attending leaves time to prevent a fire?

    There is no spontaneous combustion

Lithium batteries arent some new unknown technology. If they are manufactured properly, charged properly and stored properly they wont explode.

Before I check the definition 'Spontaneous Combustion' are you sure there is no such thing?

Whether Lithium batteries and any other inflammable items were stored correctly or not something caused a fire and chain reaction producing extreme heat in a Liverpool car park so I do not get your point unless you mean the example of the Samsung Galaxy phone which was not used correctly left charging unattended.

    J. Anderson is pushing insurance companies to settle quickly. I understand that several of those who have made claims are having problems. Several insurance companies are demanding proof that they parked in the facility etc., it is obviously in Anderson's interests to get the situation sorted as quickly as possible because 1. If there are lengthy delays, those people will not be in a rush to return to Liverpool any time soon. 2. The adjacent land to the car park has already been invested in and that is the land that is proposed to become a temporary car park for the Arena - so if there is not clear for the investor to develop, they may just pull out. I understand that the multi story car park will have to be demolished and a new one built which will also take time. Mr. Anderson is not having a very happy start to the New Year - this is on top of the problems he is having with the contractor's over the new hospital being built which has seen delays of over a year.
