Horses are regularly ridden down our road in Chruchtown, and there is always a trail of horse poo. They riders dont come back and clean up. If a dog owner allows his/her dog to poo, all hell breaks loose if its not cleaned up.

What a load of hoo ha about a bit of manure - it's pretty benign compared to dog mess.

There are no human pathogens in horse manure as there are in dogs faeces, Horse manure is drier and does not emit a disgusting odour since horses do not eat meat that is rich in sulphur compound. Earlier in history, both Horses and Dogs were working animals, consequently there were far fewer dogs years ago. Most of the dogs were kept on farms - now that people have dogs for pets their numbers have increased dramatically. Many dogs are confined to small areas which is not a dogs natural habitat, they become excitable when taken out, and are seen to be a nuisance by most people. If a Police horse is responsible for any damage, there is accountability. If the horse attacks anyone - there is accountability. If one horse is in the presence of a second horse they do not gallop around chasing one another in a haphazard manner. A Police horse is under control at all times and highly trained, therefore are far more acceptable in society.
