Don't bite bambi - this is one of the silliest posts for a good while - I'm an old cavalryman and know all too well, as I suspect the poster does, just how innocuous horse muck is.

I know, I shouldn't really, think Formby Bubble posters have finally got to me, lol! Out of interest, how old a cavalryman? My brother was one in the 80's if we're thinking of the same cavalry.

Just been on Lifeboat Rd car park in Formby to take the mutt for a stroll and what a mess ! The horse muck is everywhere i had to weave the car around it for almost the full length of the parking area .Why don,t these horse owners clean up after they have used the beautiful facility ? It really looks like a stable yard and a very untidy one at that - the new owners the National Trust have got to do something it looks and smells DISGUSTING !If it was dog owners leaving their mess they rightfully would be penalised so whats the difference - apart from the huge amounts the equines drop !!

Horses eat Hay and polo mints.

Dogs eat meat processed canned and junk food.

What go's in and all that.

Late eighties through the nineties - I was a Hussar but spent some time on attachment to those lot in London.

Old-school, are you on Formby Bubble too? There's a thread on there at the moment with people complaining about horse poo, wild rabbits in the road, pheasants walking the street etc, move to a more rural area then complain about rural life while charging down small lanes in 4x4's, makes me laugh every time.

UPDATE !!! The National Trust have put signs up telling horse owners to clean their mess up including HORSE CRAP !! So its not just me who thinks its disgusting

Hope theyvakso put signs up telling idiots not to use disposable BBQ'S on the beach or leave their beer cans scattered around or take a dump in the woods or leave plastic bags , broken chairs, parasol etc everywhere.
Pretty sure the sh!he left by humans is far more damaging than that left by the horses.

I could not find any information on that statement. There is a huge amount about dogs not being on leads and cleaning up after dogs - but not horses. Generally norse manure is beneficial to the natural environment and is not damaging to human health.

Have a drive to Lifeboat Rd there are at least 2 - is norse manure the Norwegian equivalent !!

All Poo contains parasites.

It is some of the human parasites that are doing more damage to the environment,leaving their waste everywhere.If there are any keen gardeners in that vicinity,they should be out with their shovels and bagging up the horse manure for their gardens,not a serious health risk,unlike the excrement left from dogs being walked in the area by owners who do not clear up after their animal.
