    Heavy Police Presence

People on Lord Street were amazed as they clamoured to the railings to watch a rare calvacade of vehicles heading down towards Albert Road. Several commented that it must be the Police Authorities Christmas Get together - they had never seen so many Police in town at one time. After all the two cruisers and the Police van had gone past - everything returned to normal.

..............................until the 6 0'clock news revealed the mystery.
A house in Banks was raided at 5am.It is understood the occupant of the house was arrested on charges related to terrorism.
The unnamed man was escorted by police to an unnamed Liverpool police station and is due to appear in court tomorrow.

Local Banks residents described the arrested man as a very nice chappy and a family man though he did not take part in local barn dances.

The latest information that I have is that the police have now been stepped down. The incident occurred when one of our London City visitors reported to the Police when he happened to overhear a Banks farmer mention that he was involved in a Turkey massacre.

    Its the accent.
I heard a rumour the Banks farmer actually said to (an Irish farmer) he had admitted to running a chicken farm but was absolved from selling turkey stuffed with brassica.

    Keep me posted old bean.

Too right! A farmer cannot be held responsible for what a Turkey considers his gourmet delights!
