Just a little reminder to Manc glory hunters, this is the first game of a long season, wouldn't shout to quick or loudly just yet.

Still not a complete team, IMO. They'd suffer if Pogba or Lukaku was injured.

Do those of you who are football fans - not think it would be far better if the UK reverted to the real game of football in which local teams consisted of local players only. This created greater competition among neighbouring teams and drew out the top players who would then form a British team. As it is now, just purely for business and profit, much of the real game has disappeared. Star players, from any country - are taken on. Their fees are massive which leads to far higher entrance fees to the games. These top players receive far more attention than the rest of the team which must surely act to discourage them. In addition to that - these top players are taken from their own country's teams, which then makes it far less interesting for World Cup events. There are many younger players who join football teams purely for the chance of earning large sums of money - as opposed to those who take up football because they really enjoy the game. These young naïve men are then exploited by those who advertise for such youngsters, promising them a 'trial' for major teams and charging them huge amounts of money. I have come into contact on two separate occasions with two young men who have come over to the UK, expecting to be chosen immediately for the top teams simply because they knew how to play football. They were both excited to think that very soon they would be earning £millions and were very upset to think that the Government would be taxing them on their huge earnings. That has now become the reputation of what was once a good and healthy sport.
