There's a free Powertex demonstration in Preston tomorrow, Saturday,10am-4pm. The demonstrator is Jo Channon, who is sometimes on Hochanda craft television programme, and her husband.

Powertex is a liquid hardener that sticks to anything except plastic. (I think.) Jo and Mark make sculptures, pictures and outdoor planters etc. They fetch items they've already made, and you can't believe what you are seeing. You pick up what you think is a heavy piece of stone artwork, and it's made of polystyrene. A pair of cut off jeans was made into a weatherproof planter. A beautiful poppy wreath was made from a cut up nightdress.

The demonstration is at Inspirations craft store. It's at The Capitol Centre, PR5 4AW. It's behind Dunelm, on a smaller carpark.

I wish they'd open a shop in Southport. Craft fascinates me. (though I'm not very good at it!)
