Footballers yesteryear.
The bl**dy biased chumps have been running old footage of matches.
I prefer the 60's and 70's footballers.
The kit and hairstyles nicer.
I had forgotten the muddy state of the footballers and their kit in those days.
There was no glancing up at the big screen to check the hair was in place then.

You're thinking of the skimpy shorts they used to wear!

Oh yes!
The kit suited the lithe and fit bods.
They certainly looked like they were having more fun.

Pity because Ralph Coates and Bobby Charlton would have seen themselves come out with a full Trump but as soon as they started running it was trailing two feet behind them.

Those were the days when they were men , when they wouldn't look for oscars when they were tackled , when Tommy Smith sorted things out on and off the pitch .

Tommy Smith was just ONE of many hard men in football don't try and put him on a pedestal as someone would kick it from under him. I went to the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Twickenham when Wembley was being rebuilt and as I walked out with my son two men walked across us I said to my son the bloke nearest us was one of the Hard Men of football. Who is he? Ron Chopper Harris I replied he went about his job without courting recognition he hated everyone who didn't play for Chelsea and probably a few who did.

Sadly Tommy isn't very well . But he was one of the hardest players ever to play the game . And he could play a bit as well .
