Why was it so bad? The ladies are also commentating on international cricket. Whilst it is unusual to hear a female voice, we'll become accustomed. They clearly know what they are talking about, having played the game at the top level. So I say....."Welcome Ladies"
Just be yourself, no one else is better qualified!!

Welcome to the modern world! Three out of four!! Carina Olset, Lise Klaveness, Lars Tjærnås and Anne Sturød were responsible for commenting on the Spain - Chile match in 2014. In 2014!!!!! And they did a good job of it. We have just as many female commentators in Moscow this year as we have men.

Age is simply a matter of mind - age doesn't matter if you don't mind

I find the ladies very good , they are informative, and there is one lady whose name escapes me who played for England who is brilliant .

Nice to see sexism is still alive and kicking.

Not very significant really when you get money grabbing tossers advertising Nivea for "MEN"??
We have had TWO female Prime Ministers who have been far better at dividing the Country than their Male counterparts in their party.

I'd like to think the OP is joking.
I'd like to, but...

Most here are referring to TV pundits, the post is about actual match commentators - commentary during the match
Its one of them if you didn't watch the actual match, then …………. :-)
It was a combination of actual bad commentary with a hard to listen to voice for 90mins

There are some pretty ordinary and irritating male commentators too, whose voices grate. So why did the OP feel it necessary to accentuate that the commentator was female?
As somebody said earlier, "sexism is clearly alive and kicking"

Yes OK Nick2,
I assumed you listened to the match in question and found the commentary acceptable ?
