    Father Christmas

Any ideas where I could take children to see Father Christmas this Saturday 22nd? Dobbies would have been ideal but it is fully booked. Thanks

Yes. I saw that thank you. I don't know what time the family will arrive yet and I fear it may be booked up by the time I do! Thanks again

As I don't have kids, please excuse my ignorance. However, why do you have to book to see Father Christmas?

When I was a kid I vividly remember being taken by my Mum to a wondeful grotto somewhere (probably Broadbents) and we just walked in.

How times change - even Santa needs a secretary now!

Don't they usually have a Santa's grotto in Wayfarers Arcade ? Or is that by appointment as well ?

You need to book so the child gets a full allocation of time with Santa, it wouldn't do if 1 child got 3 mins and another only 2, some may start shouting 'RIPOFF!'

West Lancs Railway involves a Steam Train Ride to visit Santa in his far away grotto, one of the few Santa experiences that are value for money.

Agreed. We went last Saturday and it was magical. Every credit to the volunteers who made the experience so special. Santa was great too, nice presents for the children and mince pies and mulled wine for the grown ups. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely to see this feedback. I managed to book for Saturday. Looking forward to it now
