They are the seven Nolan principles and as far as I am aware, Joe Anderson did say that he abides by them.

I don't see how that is fake news. The press has not provided any opinion as to whether he does abide by them.

In my opinion, however, it is an abuse of his public position to spend time interfering in a legal and private matter between two privately owned companies when he should be using his influence to improve outcomes for the Liverpool area. The elected mayor of Liverpool banging on about football and trying to interfere in the club that he supports only serves to perpetuate stereotypes about the region.

Thanks to the orangutan currently occupying the White House, the term "fake news" is used incorrectly and far too often. News that you don't like, isn't fake. Nor is quoting what a person said, even if (s)he doesn't appear to abide by their stated principles.
